Our metallurgists have a tremendous depth of knowledge and broad-range experience in the pulp and paper industry, from debarking to finished paper processes.
Our chemistry department provides alloy identification for components used throughout the pulp and paper production process. Recent results found improper material was used in a boiler system, causing graphitization within the material and premature failure.
Metallurgical analysis of material is another core strength of MSI Lab. Our images our constantly referred to as textbook quality, enhancing identification of material structures and anomalies. Recent results identified flue gas corrosion on the outer diameter of superheater tubes. This provided the necessary data to make an informed decision on repair or replacement of these tubes.
